Dune 2 Review: How about the most awaited Hollywood sequel?

Dune 2 Review:

Story:

In the first part Paul Atredius (Timothy Chalamet) flees from his enemies with his mother Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) after losing his father. Escaping, he joins the revolutionary Fremen tribe on the planet Arrakis. All of them believe in the prophecies written in ancient texts that someday a savior will come to save their planet. Jessica wants to cash in on this. Believing that her son is the savior they are looking for, she plans to subjugate the tribes.

Paul Atredius had no desire to be king. There are some among the Fremen who do not believe this prophecy. Among them Chani (Zendaya) falls in love with Paul. Along with the Fremen tribe, the Harkonnen tribe, who extract spice, a drug found only in Arrakis, attacks and weakens them. It is this tribe that kills Paul’s father in the first chapter. Did Paul take revenge on those who killed his father? Did Paul become the savior that Jessica hoped for? What happened in the end? To know that you have to watch ‘Dune Part 2’.

Analysis:

Movies with peak heroism are nothing new to the Indian film industry. From the previous generation stars to today’s superstars, all the top heroes got their stardom through peak heroism movies. But such movies are very rare in Hollywood. It is not a common thing to deliver heroism and elevations from a futuristic movie like Dune without deviating from the story. Denis Villeneuve was 100 percent successful in this.

The movie starts out quite normal. Paul and Jessica trying to blend in with the Fremen tribe, Jessica changing their beliefs in favor of her, on the other hand Paul and Chani’s love story… it goes very casually. But whenever there is a change in Paul’s character, the movie goes to another level from there. It contains scenes that are not removed from the peak heroism scenes in Indian cinema. Also, the climax was also connected to the third part and ended interestingly.

Music director Hans Zimmer put his heart and soul into the work. Hans Zimmer’s background score took the film to another level. Not to mention how important background music is to achieve heroism and elevation scenes on screen. 200 percent credit to Hans Zimmer for that. Greg Fraser’s cinematography is also ultimate. The reason for the futuristic look of the movie is the cinematography of Greg Fraze.

When it comes to actors… the first three pillars of this movie are director Denis Villeneuve, music director Hans Zimmer, cinematographer Greg Fraser while the fourth pillar is Timothee Shalam who played the role of Paul Atredius. In fact, Timothée Chalamet does not have the same cut as other action heroes in Hollywood. He is also very thin in terms of physique. But the heroism scenes are well done because of his performance. The difference in his performance before and after becoming a defender is very evident. He also showed these two variations well.

After Timothy, Jenda was the most important character. Zendaya did justice to Chani’s role. His performance in the climax of the movie is impressive. All others have done justice to their roles. Javier Bardem, who plays the leader of the Fremen tribe, gets laughs here and there.

Overall…

Dune Part 2 is a must watch movie if you are a Hollywood movie lover. Those who like heroism and elevations in Indian movies will also like it. So those who want to watch a movie this weekend can happily watch ‘Dune Part 2’.
