Bharat Shakti-2024:
The desert area of Pokhran in Rajasthan was ready for the mega exercise ‘Bharat Shakti-2024’ today i.e. on Tuesday, under which the power of indigenously manufactured defense equipment of the three armies was demonstrated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Pokhran to observe the Army’s ‘Bharat Shakti’ exercise and PM Modi witnessed ‘Bharat Shakti-2024’. There was a coordinated display of indigenous defense capabilities for about 50 minutes in Bharat Shakti-2024. Top military officers of the country were also present on this occasion. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had said in a statement on Sunday that during ‘Bharat Shakti’, a range of indigenously developed weapon systems and platforms will be showcased as part of the initiative to make the country self-reliant. It said the exercise will showcase the integrated operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces to counter threats in land, air, sea, cyber and space domains.
LCA Tejas, ALH Mk-IV, LCH Prachanda, Mobile Anti-Drone System, BMP-II and its variants, Namika (Nag Missile Carrier), T90 Tank, Dhanush, K9 Vajra and Pinaka rockets are among the platforms showcased. Sources in the defense establishment said the exercise, the first of its kind on such a scale, is not being conducted ‘targeting any direction (northern or western border) or any adversary.’ Integrated systems and platforms using artificial intelligence (AI) were also demonstrated in the exercise held at Pokaran in Jaisalmer district.
Roaring Pokhran… conflict with war planes, drones, missiles
