Kavitha arrested:
ED officials have arrested former CM KCR’s daughter and MLC Kalwakuntla Kavita in the Delhi liquor scam case. The fact that this development took place a day before the release of the Lok Sabha election schedule has become a topic of discussion in Telangana politics.
ED officials conducted searches at her house from today afternoon. The arrest was announced in the evening.
Meanwhile, Telangana Congress reacted to Kavitha’s arrest. It described it as a drama created by BRS and BJP before the Lok Sabha elections. BJP government arrested Kavitha to give breath to the depressed BRS. This is a drama played by BJP and BRS together. The ED, which had been silent for so many days, suddenly woke up and conducted searches and arrested Kavitha a day before the announcement of the election schedule. This was done with the intention of creating sympathy in favor of BRS,” TPCC Senior Vice President and Chairman G. Niranjan said in a statement.
Kavitha’s arrest is political conspiracy- BRS
Harish Rao said that the party will protest across the state over the arrest
As per conspiracy and plan, Kavitha was arrested on Friday. We will fight it out legally
They are trying to demoralise BRS.

Meanwhile, there are 12 officers in the ED special team from Delhi. They divided into four teams and searched MLC Kavitha’s house. They also inquired about the businesses related to her husband. An arrest warrant was issued for her later in the evening. Her husband Anil was informed that she was being arrested.

The ED revealed that a case has been registered against Kavitha under Section 3 and Section 4 of the PMLA Act and she has been arrested. It is stated that she was arrested at 05.20 hrs. The officers who detained Kavitha from her residence went directly to Shamshabad airport and took her to Delhi on an 8.45 night flight.
Former minister Prashant Reddy alleged that the ED officials decided to arrest her before they reached Hyderabad, and therefore booked a flight ticket for Kavitha at 8.45 am. Former minister Harish Rao alleged that this arrest was undemocratic and that Kavitha, a member of the Legislative Council, was detained with a conspiracy.
Meanwhile, BRS activists reached in front of Kalvakuntla’s residence in large numbers after receiving the information that Kavitha was taken into custody. They raised slogans against ED and BJP. But the CRPF team protected the ED officers.
