Razakar Movie Review:
India got independence in the year 1947 but Hyderabad did not. Along with Hyderabad, the rest of the Telangana region was under the rule of the Nizams.
Qasim Razvi formed the Razakar army during the Nizam’s rule and not only attacked the Hindu people, but also prevented Hyderabad from being incorporated into India. ‘Telangana Liberation Struggle’ is the struggle of Telangana people against Nizam’s rule and Razakar’s army. The ‘Razakar’ army established by Qasim Razvi committed any atrocities against the people… How did the people react to it and how did the then Indian government react?
This is a movie made in the background. Yata Satyanarayana is the director and Guduru Narayana Reddy is the producer. This film based on history has come before the audience. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the Home Minister tried to merge the states and kingdoms of the country into India.
But the King of Hyderabad, Nizam, does not agree and wants to act on his own. Qasim Razvi with his private army Razakar Army and the then Nizam Prime Minister Laik Ali Khan hatch a conspiracy to convert Hyderabad into Turkistan with the help of Pakistan. For that, he tortures the Hindu people of his kingdom, conducts various attacks on them and pressures them to convert. He will ban many languages like Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and make only Urdu. Razakar’s army led by Qasim Razvi wreaks havoc, taxing the people as they see fit. The villages facing them are made like graveyards. The then Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, learned about the murderous acts of the Nizam’s regime and decided to take military action.
The Nizam seeks Pakistan’s help and closes all the borders of the Telangana region to prevent the Indian army from entering. How did the Indian army reach Hyderabad in such circumstances and how did the Nizam rule end? What kind of struggle did the people of Telangana do? All these were shown in the movie ‘Razakar’. If a Hindu woman is seen, the truths told in the pages of history are how devilishly Razakar’s army behaved at that time. If we ask our ancestors today, they will tell us. Religious conversions, various taxes, torture of people without words, burning alive, the Razakar’s army created a carnage. The director has shown all of them on the silver screen. The director was able to show well how each and every leader from the people of Telangana stood up to Razakar’s army, mobilized the people, and ultimately lost to the army.
Also, the armed struggle of the villagers of Bhairan village… Bomb attack on Ashwariya and Gandaiya team Nizam Prabhu, all these are good. Although this is a familiar story, the role of communists is also crucial. On the whole, director Yata Satyanarayana has been credited with showing that he has a grasp on the story. When it comes to the actors, it should be said that Raj Arjun in the role of Qasim Razvi lived in that role. Gestures, his acting, the real Qasim Razvi is as brilliant as he appears on screen. The director should be praised for doing so much by him. Also, Nizanga Makarand Desh Pandey was cast in that role. Raj Sapru did a good job as Vallabhbhai Patel.
John Vijay Nizam seemed fine as Prime Minister. And the role of Indraja as Chakali Ailamma shined. Bobby Simha as Raja Reddy shines in a pivotal role. Although Anasuya’s role is small, apart from her appearance in one Bathukamma song, her performance in the next scene is the highlight. The actress is seen on stage. Prema also played a good role. It must be said that the movie was very interesting as all the actors acted very well. Director Yata Satyanarayana has given an excellent screen form to the story of the Nizam’s rule, Qasim Razvi’s fanatical killings by his Razakar army, how the people of Telangana fought an armed struggle and how the people turned around.
