Terrorist attacks have intensified in Pakistan. This is the biggest attack since the new government came to power.
In the meantime, firing took place on the Pak-Afghanistan border a few days ago. In this sequence, gunmen attacked PNS Siddique, the second largest naval air station in the country.
The attack took place late on Monday night. The insurgents dressed in Pak Army uniforms and hurled bombs into the base. The Pakistani army was immediately alerted and retaliated. It seems that the lightning attacks lasted for about six hours. The air base shook with gunfire and explosions. Four gunmen were killed in this incident. But the officials said that there was no damage to the air station. Especially in this region, news is coming that China’s drones have been deployed on a large scale.
The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack. A statement has also been released in this regard. It said that many Pakistanis were killed in their firing. Pakistan Army has not made any statement on this. But this is the second attempt to attack in a week. Rebels attacked Gwadar port less than a week ago. In this incident, Pakistani forces killed seven people. While entering PNS Siddique in Turbat, they were defeated by the Pakistan Army.
Why Balochistan Liberation Army tried to attack? What is happening at the borders? If we go deeper… Balochistan is known as the largest province of Pakistan. A region with many hills. Over the years many groups have been rebelling for independence here. To avoid their distress, Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project is being constructed through this region. China is building many projects. This is opposed by the movement groups there. Especially BLA is strongly opposed by the separatist organization.
The claim of the insurgent groups is that China has planned to exploit the gas and mineral resources in the region. However, separatist groups believe that Pakistan has been importing arms from China in recent times. In this order they tried for massive attacks. Seeing that, they decided to attack the Navy Airbase station. Balochistan Liberation Army is dangerous, and it has been recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and UK including Pakistan.
