T20 World Cup 2024: BCCI is likely to announce the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in the last week of April. The ICC has given a deadline of May 1 to announce their players for the World Cup.
It is reported that BCCI is ready to announce the team before this. An official announcement will come soon. Meanwhile, it is said that selectors are focusing on IPL stars. It seems that one or two who have excelled in this tournament have a chance to get a place in the team. Reports suggest that India is likely to announce a 15-member squad for the World Cup.
It is known that this mega tournament will be held in Westminster, America. The first match of the World Cup on June 1 will be between host USA and Canada. The final match will be held in Barbados on June 29. Meanwhile, it has been clarified when the Team India squad will be announced to participate in this mega tournament. On this occasion, a BCCI official said, “The Indian team will be selected in the last week of April. By that time half of the IPL matches will be over”. He said. He said that when the IPL league phase ends on May 19, the first batch.. the players of the teams that have qualified for the IPL play-offs will then go to New York for the second batch.
As far as the matches are concerned, Group ‘A’ has Pakistan, Canada, Ireland, America and India. Defending champions England and arch-rivals Australia are in Group ‘B’. Hosts West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea will compete in Group ‘C’. Group ‘D’ is considered as group of death with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal teams.
