Hong Kong Residential Building Fire: At least five people were killed, and 27 others injured in a fire at a major building in Hong Kong. The fire at the building called ‘New Lucky House’ in Jordan, Hong Kong was extinguished in the morning, but police said people inside the building were still pleading for help.
The building mostly has residential units. Authorities said firefighters rushed to the spot after receiving a call about the blaze at 7:53 am. Police said three men and two women were killed.

Local media, including the South China Morning Post, reported that the fire broke out in a gym on the first floor of the building. The New Lucky House has 200 units and was built in 1964. Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan said he was shocked and saddened by the fire. He told reporters that the cause of the fire would be investigated.
