Indian Railways News

Indian Railways News: Thousands of people travel by Garib Rath Train every day. The decision to run Garib Rath Train was taken with the aim that even people with low incomes can travel in AC bogies.

Indian Railways is now going to provide more convenience to the passengers in this Garib Rath train without increasing the fare. Now it has been decided to change the rolling stock of this train i.e. the coach. The number of bogies is being increased so that more and more people can travel at a time. Along with this, its color is also being changed.

Change from April 10

Garib Rath trains run on important routes like Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Chennai, Patna-Kolkata. Passengers were facing a lot of problems in the old ICF coaches. In view of this, Indian Railways has decided to install LHB coaches made of German technology in 26 Garib Rath trains across the country. This change is going to happen from April 10, 2024. In the first phase, three Garib Rath trains will be upgraded between April 10 and April 13.

No hike in fare

LHB coaches will be added to 22406 Garib Rath Express going from Anand Vihar in Delhi to Bhagalpur via Kanpur, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Patna, Mokama, Keul, Jamalpur and Sultan Ganj and 22405 Garib Rath Express coming from Bhagalpur to Anand Vihar. LHB coach service will start from 10 April in the train leaving from Anand Vihar, while in the Garib Rath leaving from Bhagalpur from 11 April.

Even after changing these coaches in Garib Rath, the fare will be charged at the old rates. That is, there will be no hike in fare, but the facilities of the passengers will increase. LHB coaches are also being added to 12212 Garib Rath Express going from Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur and 12211 Garib Rath Express coming from Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar. In this train, LHB coach service will start from Anand Vihar from 10 April and from Muzaffarpur from 12 April.

Anand Vihar-Jayanagar Garib Rath Express

Anand Vihar-Jayanagar Garib Rath train will run with LHB coaches from April 13. Train number 12436 runs from Anand Vihar Terminal to Jayanagar via Kanpur, Allahabad, Mughalsarai or Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Patna, Mokama, Barauni. The facility of racks with LHB coaches will also start from April 15 in the 12435 Garib Rath Express train coming from Jayanagar to Anand Vihar.

Anand Vihar-Gaya Garib Rath Train

Anand Vihar-Gaya Garib Rath Train 22410 starts from Anand Vihar Terminal and goes to Gaya via Kanpur, Mughalsarai, Sasaram. This train will run with LHB coaches from 13 April 2024. At the same time, LHB coaches will be installed in the 22409 Garib Rath train coming from Gaya to Anand Vihar from 14 April.

Number of seats will increase in Garib Rath trains

The number of seats will increase with the addition of LHB coaches in Garib Rath trains. Currently, the Garib Rath train going to Bhagalpur has sleeper class coaches as well as AC chair car coaches. Now only AC three tier economy coaches will be installed in it. Till now 16 AC sleeper coaches were being installed in other Garib Rath trains going to Bihar.

Now all Garib Rath trains will have 20 AC sleeper economy coaches and one guard cum generator coach each at the front and rear of the train. Due to the increase in sleeper coaches, 352 berths of AC sleeper coaches will be added in each Garib Rath Express. This means that more passengers will be able to travel in the train than before.

Garib Rath train will be of this color

The coaches of the Garib Rath trains running at present are green in color. The coaches of the Garib Rath trains that will run with LHB coaches will be red in color. This is the color of the coaches of Rajdhani and other mail-express trains as well. At present, the maximum speed of ICF (Integral Coach Factory) coaches used in Garib Rath Express is 130 km per hour. Whereas the maximum speed of LHB coaches is 160 km per hour. That means the speed of trains will increase. LHB coaches are made of stainless steel, hence they are lighter than old ICF coaches. They also rust less.

LHB coaches are comfortable

Air brakes are used in ICF coaches. Due to this, the train stops after going a long distance when brakes are applied. Whereas disc brakes are used in LHB coaches (Linke Hofmann Busch). Due to this, the train stops after a short distance when brakes are applied. LHB coaches have double suspension. Hydraulic is used in the middle suspension.

This does not happen in ICF. That is why ICF i.e. blue colored coaches make a lot of noise from the side of the track when the train moves. Extra suspension has also been provided in LHB. This suspension is not from top to bottom but for the side. That is why passengers keep moving sideways during the journey in blue coaches. Whereas the suspension of LHB absorbs this.
