Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined by the IPL authorities. The Rajasthan captain was fined for recording a slow over rate against Gujarat Titans. The Rajasthan team took 5 minutes more than the allotted time. As Rajasthan registered a slow over rate for the first time this season, Samson was fined Rs 12 lakh. It is known that Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant have already been fined due to the slow over rate this season.

According to the IPL code of conduct, if the slow over rate is registered for the first time in a season, the team captain will be fined Rs.12 lakh. If it is repeated for the second time, the captain will be fined Rs.24 lakhs and the players in the team will be fined Rs.6 lakhs or 25 percent of the match fees. If the same is repeated for the third time, the captain will be fined Rs.30 lakh and banned for one match. The players will also be fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 per cent of their match fee, whichever is less.
