De Kock (54 off 43 balls,5 fours, 1 six) and KL Rahul (82 off 53 balls, 9 fours, 3 sixes) made the team reach the target in 19 overs on a lifeless Lucknow bowlers and the team made 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (57 not in 40 balls, 5 fours 1 six and Rahane(36) excelled.

Jadeja, who came at the fourth position, scored runs along with opener Rahane ( 36). Krunal Pandya broke this pair. Then he sent Shivam Dubey (3), who has been on the rise this season, to Stoinis Pavilion. Chennai was in trouble as Razvi (1) who replaced Rahane Wents to the dugout without making any impact. In this order , Jaddu… Main Ali (30) increased CSK’s runs rate again. Moeen Ali, who hit a hat trick of sixes in the 18th over, was caught by Badoni on the crease with 13 balls remaining, scored a total of 28 runs with 4,6,6,4,4 and gave Chennai a fighting score.

The openers gave a good start to Lucknow who came to break the target. This pair completely dominated the Chennai bowlers in the power play. In the 15th over bowled by Mustafizur, Quinton de Kock caught Dhoni and ended the 134 run first wicket partnership. This is the pitch. Nicholas Pooran (23 not out) and Stooinis (8 not out) who came to the crease after Rahul and DeKock were out, completed the victory.
