Ghatkopar Hoarding Collapse:
So far 14 people have died due to the collapse of a hoarding on a petrol pump in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, Maharashtra. 88 people were affected by this accident. Out of these, 74 are injured, who are being treated in the hospital.
Relief and rescue work is still going on.
Earlier, during the dust storm and rain in Ghatkopar area also, a ‘metal parking tower’ under construction fell on the road during strong winds. According to BMC officials, the hoarding that fell in Ghatkopar was illegal. According to BMC officials, the size of the hoarding to BMC officials, the size of the hoarding was 120×120 feet. Mumbai Police registered a case
An official said that after a hoarding fell on a petrol pump in Ghatkopar area and people died, Mumbai Police has registered a case against the owner of ‘Ego Media’ and others. A case has been registered against owner Bhavesh Bhide and others under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 338 (causing grievous hurt by endangering the life or personal safety of other) and 337 (causing hurt to another person by doing rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code.
At the same time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the spot after the incident of hoarding falling in Ghatkopar late in the evening and ordered an audit of all hoarding structures in Mumbai city. He announced an assistance of Rs.5 lakh each to the family of each person killed due to the falling of hoarding.
