Amid the war with Hamas, Israel has now carried out a major strike in the southern Lebanon province. According to local media, two people were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone struck the town of Oudaiseh, killing two people. It said Israeli forces launched heavy shelling overnight on villages and areas in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah reported that six fighters were killed in a confrontation with Israeli forces, bringing the death toll since October 8 to 308. Tensions have escalated along Lebanon’s border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv moves to launch a deadly offensive against the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 35,640 people since October after the Palestinian resistance group’s offensive.
Tensions escalated along the Lebanon-Israel border on October 8, 2023, after a barrage of rockets launched by Hezbollah towards Israel in a show of solidarity with Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7. Israel then retaliated by firing heavy artillery towards southeastern Lebanon. According to Lebanese security sources, the confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel has killed 479 people on the Lebanese side, including 303 Hezbollah members and 89 civilians.
