Powerful tornadoes are creating destruction in America. Most recently, a school and a large number of homes were destroyed in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. At least 22 people have died due to tornadoes in the US. Tornadoes have had the greatest impact on Pennsylvania. Mahanoy City is located 70 miles northeast of Harrisburg, the state capital of Pennsylvania. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area on Sunday. Damage from the tornadoes was assessed on Tuesday. Meanwhile, many people have shared pictures on social media of dense car clouds covering the sky in this area.

Seven people died in Texas and eight in Arkansas due to these tornadoes. Authorities say two people have died in Mayes Country, Oklahoma. Tornadoes caused dozens of injuries and property damage. A state of emergency has been declared in Kentucky due to the threat of tornadoes.

More than 2000,000 homes and businesses were without power Tuesday morning in Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas, West Virginia and Missouri.
