India and Pakistan reached the final of Champions Trophy 2017 by defeating their respective opponents. Pakistan batted first and put up a huge score of 338 runs on the scoreboard. Fakhar Zaman played a brilliant innings of 144 runs in this match. But when India came out to chase the target. Mohammad Aamir wreaked havoc on the Indian batsmen. First, he got Rohit Sharma out on a score of zero with an in-swing ball, then he also took the wicket of Virat Kohil and destroyed India’s top order. Shikhar Dhawan had just started looking in good touch, when Aamir got him caught by Sarfaraz Ahmed on a score of 21 runs. India lost this match by 180 runs, while Mohammad Aamir bowled 6 overs in the match, in which he took 3 wickets giving only 16 runs. These included 2 maiden overs.
Aamir is back from retirement
Mohammed Aamir said goodbye to international cricket in the year 2020, but after staying away from cricket for four years, he announced his return from retirement just before the T20 World Cup 2024. Aamir returned in the series against New Zealand and in his very first match, he took 2 wickets for just 13 runs in 3 overs. Although he has been struggling to take wickets after that, he needed some time to get into good touch, which he has got in the series against New Zealand, England and Ireland.
