Sad news is coming from the South Industry. Actually, the funder of Eenadu and Ramoji Film city, Ramoji Rao passed away this morning in Hyderabad, Telangana. Eminet media baron and film emperor Ramoji Rao died during treatment at Star Hospital in Hyderabad.

Ramoji Rao was admitted to Star Hospitals in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad on June 5 after suffering from high blood pressure and shortness of breath. Doctors tried hard to save Ramoji, a stent was put in his heart, and he was also kept on a ventilator in the ICU. But his condition kept deteriorating and early this morning he said goodbye to this world forever.

Who was Ramoji Rao?

Ramoji Rao was born on November 16, 1936, in a farmer family in Peddaparupudi village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. He built the world’s largest theme park and film studio, Ramoji Film City. His business empire includes Marga Darsi Chit Fund, Eenadu Newspaper, ETV Network, Ramadevi Public School, Priya Foods, Kalanjali, Ushakiran Movies, Mayuri Film Distributors and Dolphin Group of Hotels.
AS a media baron, Ramoji Rao had a significant impact on Telugu politics. He had very good relations with many state and national leaders who used to seek his advice on important issues. For this outstanding contribution to journalism, literature, cinema and education, the Government of India awarded him the country’s second highest civilian award, Padam Vibhushan in 2016.

Ramoji Rao ventured into film production with the 1984 blockbuster romantic drama Srivarki Premalekha and Produced many classics including Mayuri, Prathighatana, Mouna Poratam, Mansau Mamata, Chitram and Nuvve Kavali. His last film as a producer was Dagudumootha Dandakor, which released in 2015.
