Bangalore’s Kaya Khare has become the world’s youngest master scuba diver. At the age of just 12, Kyna has won the title of becoming the world’s youngest female master scuba diver. Kyan is not new to the world of scuba diving. In fact, Kyna started her training at the young age of 10. Kyna’s first dive was in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. That was the first time Kyna saw the world beneath the waves.

Started training at the age of 10

Kyna’s journey began at the age of 10. This experience left a deep impact on Kyna which led her on a path where she had to travel to different foreign places to hone her skills.

According to NDTV report, Kyna says, “I started scuba diving when I was 10 Years old. I was in the Andaman and Nicobar Island for the first time. I found it very fun. I did open water diving.

From novice to master

Kyna’s enthusiasm for scuba diving soon turned into an expert. After her initial dives, Kyna went to Bali, Indonesia and completed an open water syllabus. In this, Kyna learned all the tricks of becoming a great diver.

But Kyna now wanted a bigger challenge. Due to which she went to Thailand, Kyna got her advanced open water certificate her. After this certification, Kyna moved forward. Kyna says, “I completed my open water course in Bali, Indonesia and also completed my advanced open water course in Thailand.

But Kyna did not stop here. She continued her diving with special courses. Which including underwater photography, nitrox diving etc. And eventually Kyna become known as a master diver in the Andaman and Nicobar Island.

The journey was full of challenges

However, scuba diving also posed many challenges. According to an NDTV report, Kyna says that the weather conditions were dangerous, heavy storms and strong waters made diving difficult. Kyna says, “I have a lot of stories and experiences underwater. The Andaman and Nicobar Island were scary because the weather was very challenging and bad. I had to do my rescue diving course there. The water was very fast and there was a storm and rain. I still had to dive underwater and pull an unconscious diver to the boat 20 meters aways. But I completed it”.

Family was with me

However, Kyna’s family always supported her in her journey. Kyna’s mother Anshuma calls her a “water baby”. She says, “Kyna has always been a water baby. She learned to swim at the age to two. We had to take her out of the pool. She used to swim in the apartment’s swimming pool.

Initially, Kyna’s parents were hesitant to let their daughter take up scuba diving due to their fear. However, Kyna’s passion and determination convinced them to support her wholeheartedly. Today, Kyna is making a name for herself all over the world.
