A majority of trains that reached Secunderabad railway station from their destination concerned are parked at the washing line at Road under Bridge near SCR main office in Mettuguda. After the coaches are cleaned, then the coaches would be taken to Secunderabad station for the scheduled journey.

Upon getting information from the staff, a fire tender rushed to the spot. As there was no proper way for them to reach the washing line because of bushes and height, the fire fighters had to use ladders to reach the line to carry out firefighting operations.

While the railway staff was clueless about the exact reason for the mishap, the fire department officials said the exact reason behind the fire could be ascertained only after a detailed inspection.
