Bengaluru Dengue Cases
Dengue is spreading in Bengaluru. More than 1000 cases have been reported in the last 3 weeks. If we look at the data, apart from Bengaluru, the most affected districts are Haveri, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Chitradurga and Dakshina Kannada.
In just ten days, from June 1 to June 11, the city reported 546 cases. In the last two months, more than 3,200 dengue cases have been reported in Bengaluru.
At the same time, amid the rising cases of dengue, officials of the civic body are conducting regular checks across the city. They are running campaigns to educate people about how to prevent the spread of dengue and stay alert. A high-level meeting was held on Tuesday to review the state’s preparations.

The CM had called a meeting regarding dengue
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had called a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation. The purpose of the meeting was to review the state’s preparations to handle the spread of the viral infection. He was accompanied by Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and other senior officials. The CM directed them to ensure the availability of treatment, medicine and platelets.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Karnataka has reported 5,374 dengue cases and five deaths so far in the past day. According to the central government guidelines, the mortality rate for dengue should not exceed 0.5 per cent. Karnataka’s mortality rate is 0.09 per cent, which is much below the recommended limit, the office said.
Dengue cases rise due to rains
Corporation officials have become alert after more than 1,000 cases were reported in Bengaluru in a span of three weeks. According to officials, a total of 1,230 cases have been reported in the Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits. Dengue cases have seen a rise due to water stagnation caused by recent rains.
