NEET Case Arrest
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the NEET UG 2024 question paper leak case. This is the first arrest in the case.
A team of CBI officers arrested accused Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar in Patna. The accused were produced before the court in the question paper leak case. Before the exam, Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar chose an area. Officials related to the case told PTI that the leaked question papers and answers were given there. The CBI has so far registered at least six FIRs in connection with the NEET question paper leak case.
The first CBI FIR was registered on Sunday, a day after the Bihar government handed over the case to the CBI in the question paper leak case. The case was handed over to the CBI as students across the country demanded an inquiry into the irregularities in the NEET examination this year.

This year’s exam was conducted on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. 23 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. After the results were announced on June 4, many students were worried about the question paper being leaked in some areas.
This year, there were 67 toppers in the NEET-UG exam. All of them scored 720/720 marks. Two toppers in NEET 2023 and one in 2022. On Wednesday, the CBI team also conducted its investigation in Jharkhand. Visited the school in Hazaribagh area and questioned the staff including the principal.
In the wake of the NEET-UG exam rigging controversy, the Center has postponed the NEET-PG 2024 exam hours before it was scheduled to be held. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has canceled the UGC-NET 2024 exam question paper after it was reportedly leaked on the dark net.
