T20 World Cup Final: After entering the final, captain Rohit Sharma broke his silence on the silence of Virat Kohli’s bat

T20 World Cup Final

The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma defeated defending champion England by a huge margin of 68 runs and entered the T20 World Cup final for the third time. After a gap of 10 years, the Indian team has reached the final of the T20 World Cup.

Team India, after losing the toss in the match, batted first and scored 171 runs for 7 wickets. After this, defending the target of 172 runs, England was bowled out for 103 runs in 16.4 overs and avenged the defeat in the T20 World Cup final two years ago. After entering the final, Rohit Sharma expressed satisfaction and said, this victory in this match is very satisfying. We have worked hard as a team and the victory in this match is the result of everyone’s collective effort.

Virat has saved the innings for the final

After the team reached the final of the World Cup, Rohit Sharma broke the silence on the silence of Virat Kohli’s bat and said, ‘We know that he is a great player. We also understand his importance in such big matches. When you have played cricket for 15 years, form is not a reason for any problem. Probably he has saved his innings for the final.’ In the current World Cup, Virat Kohli has been able to score only 15 runs in 7 innings of 7 matches at an average of approximately 10.

This is the mantra of our victory

Rohit further said, today the conditions were challenging here, we had to adapt to them. This is the story of our success so far. Till this match, we have adapted well to the conditions in all the matches, we played well according to the conditions. If the batsman or bowler understands the conditions well and adapts, then everything is fine. The same happened with us today as well. It is very satisfying to see the way we won this match.

A score of 140-150 runs was enough for victory

How much score would be enough for victory. In response to this, Rohit said, at one time it seemed that a score of 140 to 150 runs would be enough for victory. But in the middle overs we were successful in scoring runs. We formed a partnership and were thinking of scoring 20-25 runs more. I would even decide the score in my mind but would not share it with others. I wanted the players to play freely according to their own wishes, I did not want to put pressure on them. If we bat well and understand the conditions well, we will reach a good score and that is what happened. We scored around 170 runs which was enough to win on this pitch. After this, our bowlers performed brilliantly.

Our focus was on taking wickets

Praising the bowling of Indian spinners, Rohit said, it is difficult to play shots in these conditions against spinners like Akshar, Kuldeep. They were under pressure but were calm even in such a situation. We knew what we had to do after the first innings. After the first innings, we discussed and gave the message to the players that they have to keep all the focus on the stumps and that is what we did.

Staying calm benefited in the T20 World Cup

How is the team different from the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 played in Ahmedabad 7 months ago. In response to this, Rohit said,

We are very calm as a team. We understand that the final is a big opportunity for us. It is important for us to stay calm. Staying calm helps in taking good decisions. Even today we were very stable mentally. We never panicked and that was the reason for the victory. You have to play good cricket even on big occasions. You can do this only when people will make decisions with peace and patience.

Will end the 11-year title drought

On the question of ending the ICC trophy drought that has been going on since 2013, Rohit Sharma said, we will try our best to win the title. Our team is in good shape. I hope we will give our best in the final.
