Rain in Delhi: Record breaking rain in Delhi washed away all government plans! Roads became canals at many places, people faced problems in commuting

Rain in Delhi

Monsoon usually arrives in the national capital Delhi on 30 June. But heavy rains two days before normal washed away all the claims of Delhi officials and civic agencies. The heavy rains in Delhi on Thursday night and early Friday morning have broken the record of 88 years.

Due to this torrential rain, Delhi’s roads have been waterlogged. There is a situation of traffic jam at many places. This heavy rain has disrupted normal life in Delhi. The administration will have to make better plans and preparations to deal with such emergency situations.

Pre-monsoon rains have turned roads into rivers

The capital Delhi has been struggling with drinking water crisis for the past few months. Aam Aadmi Party has also made serious allegations against BJP regarding the water crisis. On the other hand, as soon as it rained, BJP councilor Ravindra Negi started swimming with the children’s boat and started paddling. Pre-monsoon rains have turned roads into rivers.

Water fills up every year

During monsoon, as soon as the rain starts, the underpasses of Delhi get filled with water. This not only causes terrible traffic jams, but many times people also lose their lives. Every year it is claimed that this time there will be no waterlogging, contrary to this claim, the drainage system fails as soon as it rains.

There are many critical places in Delhi where many arrangements were made to end waterlogging. Despite this, waterlogging occurs here every year. Like last year, life was disrupted due to waterlogging at 8 critical places in Delhi. These 8 critical places are Minto Bridge, Azadpur Underpass, under Zakhira Flyover, Loni Gol Chakkar, Jahangirpuri Metro Station Kanjhawala Road, Ring Road, location in front of WHO and Prahladpur Bridge.

Waterlogging caused problems at the underpass

Due to heavy rains in Delhi on Thursday night and Friday morning, a large amount of water has accumulated in Badarpur and Pul Prahladpur underpasses in South Delhi. This has stopped the movement of vehicles. The pumps that drain out water from the underpass have also failed. Due to this, people had to face heavy traffic jams in the morning at Pul Prahladpur, Badarpur Border, Sarita Vihar on MB Road.
