Pune Porsche Case Update Today
The much talked about case of Pune Porsche accident is now going to the Supreme Court. Pune Police will challenge the Bombay High Court’s decision to release the minor accused in the Supreme Court.
The Eknath Shinde government of Maharashtra has given permission for this. On 25 June, the Bombay High Court had ordered the release of the convict from the juvenile correctional home. The Bombay High Court had considered it illegal to keep the minor accused in captivity. The court had overturned the decision of the Juvenile Justice Board and ordered the immediate release of the accused.
Now the Pune Police is going to approach the Supreme Court regarding this matter. According to the information, on 26 June, Pune Police had proposed to the state government to challenge this decision in the Supreme Court, which has been accepted by the Shinde government.
It is worth noting that on 19 May, a minor youth riding a Porsche car in Pune crushed two people. The minor is accused of hitting the bike hard, due to which a young man and a girl died. The youth is the son of a big businessman, he is accused of driving the car in a drunken state.
The surprise came when the police asked the accused to write a 300-word essay on road safety. The accused was released from the police station just a few hours after the accident. There was tremendous anger among the people regarding this. After massive protests from the people, Pune Police registered an FIR against the accused and arrested him. After this, on May 22, the accused was ordered to be taken into custody and sent to the observation home. After this, while hearing the case, the Bombay High Court on June 25 ordered the release of the accused from the juvenile home.
