Team India Victory Parade
The whole of India is united in honor of the world champion Indian team. The Rohit Brigade had hoisted the tricolor after defeating South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 on the soil of Barbados.
In celebration of this historic victory, Team India reached Mumbai from New Delhi, where lakhs of fans were gathered on the streets. The Marine Drive was packed. Earlier this sight was seen in 1983, 2007 and 2011, but in the year 2024, the craze of fans regarding cricket has increased even more.
A wonderful, incomparable and incredible welcome of the champion was seen. Be it Delhi or Mumbai, despite the heavy rains, the enthusiasm of the fans did not decrease. The Indian team started the open bus parade from Nariman Point in Mumbai, which is 1 km away from Wankhede Stadium. After this, Team India entered the Wankhede Stadium, where Hardik Pandya raised the middle ground trophy in his hand and waved it towards the fans. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other Indian players danced. After the national anthem at Wankhede, captain Rohit Sharma said that this trophy is for the whole country. This is a special team, and I am lucky to lead it. During this, the enthusiasm of the crowd for Rohit was visible. The people present in the entire stadium stood up for Rohit Sharma. For Hardik Pandya too, the crowd raised slogans of Hardik, Hardik.
During this, Virat Kohli gave special praise to Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled brilliantly in the competition. Jasprit Bumrah was given the Player of the Series Award. Kohli said that we are fortunate that Bumrah plays for us, because he is a once in a generation bowler. Apart from this, Virat Kohli said about Rohit Sharma that we have been playing together for 15 years, for the first time I have seen him so emotional. Rohit Sharma and I were both crying, I will never forget that day.
The BCCI has given an amount of Rs 125 crore as a reward, honoring the winners at the Wankhede Stadium. The players of the Indian team also sang Vande Mataram along with the crowd.
Meanwhile, dancing together with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was a great experience for the audience. On 29 June 2024, Team India did not win just one match, tournament or trophy, but ended the 11-year-long wait of crores of Indians. Earlier, the Indian team had reached Delhi in the early hours of Thursday, where the team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the day.
