Flight Ticket Fraud
As he was working at the airport, he made an agreement with the consultancies that he would get a discount on the flight tickets, and along with booking the tickets, he started canceling the ticket and getting the money refunded without their knowledge.
While he was harassing the consultancies of AP and Telangana states, finally the police of Warangal Commissionerate caught him. He was arrested on Wednesday and sent back behind bars. Hanumakonda CI Satish disclosed the details of the arrest of the accused.
Madu Saiteja, a 30-year-old from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, joined B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering. He stopped his studies midway due to various reasons and worked as an airport cabin crew in Chennai. While working there, he got to know all the people working there. He started talking to everyone while staying apart.
Fraud by misuse of concession
Generally, there is a discount of up to 20 percent on flight tickets for those who work at the airport. Knowing this, Madu Saiteja collected the details of some consultancies linked to the Just Dial website. After that, he took the phone numbers of the respective consultancies and went directly in touch with the managers. After that he called them and told them that he would book the flight tickets at a lower price than the outside rate, his original plan. He made a plan to give a ticket at a low price and take some percentage of it in the name of commission.
Book tickets and then cancel
According to the consultancy agreement, Saiteja used to book flight tickets for passengers going to different places. He used to book a new ticket for a 20 percent discount and take commission from them. Saiteja, who has been booking tickets for passengers so far, has been doing well, but according to his plan, he used to cancel the tickets again without the knowledge of the consultancies. With this, the money will be refunded after cancellation of the ticket. But he used to send the refund amount to other people’s account instead of his own account.
Saiteja started performing jalsa with the money he got. In the meantime, Saiteja flight tickets are often canceled among those who have ordered through consultancies, and the consultancies are also getting suspicious due to last minute difficulties for the passengers. When the complaints were received from Hanumakonda, the police paid special attention.
An investigation was carried out and the accused was named. As part of the investigation, cases have been registered against the accused in Suryapet, NTR and Krishna districts along with Subedari. Hanumakonda Inspector Satish explained that Saiteja was arrested on Wednesday and taken to remand. Warangal CP Amber Kishore Jha congratulated the Hanumakonda police for their efforts in arresting the accused.
