Sarfira Day 1 Box office
Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira released in theaters this Friday (July 12). The film is a Hindi remake of the National Award-winning film Surarai Potru (Akaashme Haddura).
Sudha Kongarane, the director who made that movie, also directed Sarfira. This has created good expectations for this film. However, Sarfira movie did not collect as expected on the first day. It was a disappointment at the box office.
These are the first day collections
Sarfira’s first day all-India net collection was only Rs.2.50 crore. It was shocking to get such an opening for this movie. Bookings have also been slow. The movie is estimated to have collected Rs.4 crores worldwide on its first day.
On the first day of Sarfira, the average theater occupancy was less than 20 percent. However, the movie team is hoping that the collections will pick up due to the positive talk of this movie. If there is no growth in collections, Akshay’s account will take another hit. Indian 2 (Hindustani 2 in Hindi) also released on Friday to compete with Sarfira.

Less than 15th day of Kalki…
Rebel star Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD has collected around Rs 4 crores on its 15th day in India. However, Sarfira’s first day net collection in India was only Rs.2.50 crore. As a result, Sarfira was not able to get Kalki’s collection on its 15th day on the first day. Meanwhile, the movie Kalki 2898 AD has already crossed the mark of Rs.1,000 crore gross collections worldwide.
As a remake of the National Award movie…
Surarai Potru movie starring Tamil star hero Surya in 2020 was released straight to OTT and received a lot of praise. This film is directed by Sudha Kongara on the life of GR. Gopinath who established an airline company and worked hard to bring air travel prices within the reach of everyone. This movie won the National Award for Best Film. Suriya won the National Award for Best Actor and Aparna Balamurali won the National Award for Best Actress. Sarfira is a remake of this movie.
Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. Seema Biswas, R. Sarath Kumar, Saurabh Goyal, Krishnakumar, Airawat Harshe Mayadev and Prakash Belawadi have done key roles. The film was directed by Sudha Kongaran. This movie is jointly produced by Arun Bhatia, Vikram Malhotra, Surya and Jyoti. GV Prakash Kumar, Tanishka Bagchi and Suhit Abhyankar worked as music directors.
While Akshay Kumar has been making films for several years, most of them have turned out to be flops. Last year, except OMG 2, the rest of the films were disappointing. Bade Miya Chote Miya movie that released this year was a disaster.
