Harsha Bhogle on Ruturaj Gaikwad: Harsha Bhogle has given a big statement regarding the selection of star Indian player Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad’s style of playing has always attracted Indian fans and he has proved this in his three matches against Zimbabwe.
After the retirement of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from T20 International cricket, the opportunities for young players in the Indian team squad have increased but Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will still remain with Team India in ODI cricket, but as a strategy, even if Rohit and Virat are with the team, they can be rested in some matches and young players can be given a chance.
During a conversation on Cricbuzz, Harsha Bhogle said, ‘If you come from anywhere and see Ruturaj Gaikwad batting in his last 3, 4 matches and you say that if this player could not make a place in the Indian team, then this Indian team must have come from another planet.’
Rituraj definitely gave wings to the desire to cement his place in Team India with his performance against Zimbabwe, but with the announcement of Team India against Sri Lanka, it will be clear what Team India’s strategy is going to be for the future.
