The Karnataka High Court has made a major comment on the demand of Rs 6 lakh as alimony in a divorce case. Actually, the wife had demanded Rs 6 lakh as alimony from the husband. On this demand, the woman judge of the High Court advised the wife to earn on her own.

A video of the hearing of a divorce case in the Karnataka High Court is going viral on social media. In which the woman judge reprimanded for asking for more alimony. Woman judge Lalita Kanneganti said who spends so much money in a month? She said are you not taking advantage of the rule? The judge said that you neither have the responsibility of the family nor do you have to take care of the children. If you only want money for yourself, then who asks for so much money? She said that if you want to spend so much money, they earn it yourself. The court said that having a dispute with the wife is not a punishment for the husband.

How much alimony did the petitioner ask for-

In this divorce case, the woman Radha Munukuntla had demanded Rs 6 lakh 16 thousand 300 as alimony from her husband under section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. The woman’s lawyer told the High Court that his client spends 15 thousand rupees every month to buy shoes, clothes and bangles. While the food expenses are 60 thousand rupees. There is an additional expenditure of 4 to 5 lakhs every month for the treatment of knee pain. In such a situation, 6 lakh 16 thousand 300 rupees should be given every month as maintenance.

The judge asked the woman’s lawyer to demand a reasonable alimony. The court said that if the demands are not changed then the petition will be dismissed. The judge said that the court will not tolerate unreasonable demands.
