Kolkata Rape Case Today
It is known that Sanjay Roy was arrested in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor of RG Kar Medical College. Officials said a polygraph test was conducted on the accused at Kolkata’s Presidency Jail.
Sanjay Roy told the Kolkata court judge that he was framed. Sanjay Roy broke down in tears in court when he pleaded not guilty to a polygraph test. There were reports that Sanjay had said that the polygraph tests would prove his innocence.
It is known that Sanjay Roy has been grumbling about something since he was sent to the Presidency Jail. At the time of entering the jail, Sanjay Roy kept saying that he did not know anything. It is reported that Roy asked him to sleep peacefully.
It is said that Sanjay Roy told the prison guards that he did not know about the rape and murder. But some also said that his behavior during the arrest was different. Local news reports revealed that a don’t care attitude was displayed. The main accused in the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case has shown no remorse, the Kolkata Police has confirmed. But Sanjay Roy denied the latest allegations against him.
Four people including Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Hospital, were conducted polygraph tests on Saturday. A team of polygraph experts from Delhi’s Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is conducting the tests. Two more polygraph tests will be conducted at the CBI office in Kolkata.
Sanjay Roy was arrested by the Kolkata Police on August 10, the day after the doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Sanjay Roy was arrested due to CCTV footage and Bluetooth headphones. Investigation reports say that Sanjay Roy entered the seminar hall of the college where the dead body was found around 4 am.
Sanjay Roy has been working as a civilian volunteer with the Kolkata Police since 2019. He became close to some senior police officers over the years. After that he was sent to Kolkata Police Welfare Board and posted at Police Out Post in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
On the other hand, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh questioned the actions of CBI. He said that the rape-murder case should be solved quickly, only one person has been arrested so far. That too was done by the Kolkata Police, he said. Ghosh questioned what the CBI is doing, and politics is running because of the delay.
