France Shocker
Avignon, Sep 3: A 71-year-old man from France has been accused of drugging his wife and forcing her to be raped by strangers for ten years.
The husband would crush sleeping pills and anti-anxiety drugs into his wife’s evening meal or wine and render her unconscious. Fifty-one persons in this case said that after drugging the man’s wife, he raped her. The victim requested a public hearing in her case. Following this, Judge Roger Arata announced that all hearings would be open to the public, fulfilling the woman’s request for “full publicity until the end” of the trial, as her lawyer Stefan Babonno put it.
According to police reports, 71 men raped her a total of 92 times. 51 of them were identified as males. The incident began in 2011 near Paris. It continued even after the couple moved to Mazan in 2013.
The husband took part in rapes and made videos, encouraging other men with demeaning language. But the lawyers said that no money was exchanged between them. The accused included men from various backgrounds—some were single, others were married or divorced, while many had participated only once…some had participated six times.
Accused has been charged with murder and rape. But he denied it. He tried to rape her in 1999 and confessed after DNA evidence was found. Despite his actions, experts concluded he was not mentally ill. The trial, which began with open hearings at the request of the victim, will continue till December 20.
