The Mogili Ghat road, which is known for accidents, has killed seven people this time. An iron load lorry that lost control hit an RTC bus.
Another lorry coming with a load of granite collided with the bus from behind and the bus was crushed. After visiting Tirumala, some of those who left for their home areas by bus committed suicide. 31 people were injured.
Bangarupalem/Chittoor, September 13 (Andhra Jyoti): A fatal accident took place on Mogili Ghat road in Bangarupalem mandal around 3 pm on Friday. A 20-tyre lorry coming from Bangalore with iron load went out of control at Mogili Ghat. The RTC bus, which was going from Tirumala to Bangalore, crossed the divider into the side road and collided head-on at high speed. The bus suddenly turned back. At the same time, the granite load lorry coming behind the bus collided with the bus once again. Iron load lorry driver and bus driver died on the spot in this accident. Along with these two, five people who were traveling in the RTC bus were killed and 8 people were seriously injured. A total of 31 people were injured, including three people in the granite lorry.
The collector of the accident, SP
Immediately after the accident, Bangarupalem CI Srinivasulu along with his staff reached the spot and shifted the injured to Palamaner Government Hospital in an ambulance. After a while, Collector Sumitkumar, SP Manikantha, JC Vidyadhari, DTC Niranjan Reddy, DSP Degala Prabhakar and others went to the accident site and accelerated the rescue operations. The dead bodies were taken from the Collector and SP to the Chittoor Government Hospital Mortuary.
Locals in relief efforts
Manohar, the RTC bus driver, was thrown from his seat and got stuck between the lorries and died. It took about an hour to pull out the conductor Chiranjeevi, who was stuck between the seats. Locals and officials pulled him out with guns and rods and took him to the hospital in 108 ambulances. The iron load lorry driver also died on the spot. As his body was stuck under the embankments, the police and locals moved the embankments aside with the help of an excavator. Gopi from Mogili took the body of a boy who fell from the bus in both hands and put it in the ambulance. The manager of Srini Foods factory in Mogili along with his staff undertook relief measures. It took about an hour and a half to retrieve the seven bodies and take them to the hospital.

Traffic diversion
The RTC bus, which was crushed in the accident, was brought out with cranes and tried for about an hour to recover it. As Chennai-Bangalore national highway, a large number of vehicles travel. Due to this accident, two lorries and a bus remained on the road, so the police diverted the traffic to one side.
CM condoles the families of the deceased
CM Chandrababu and Transport Minister Ramprasad Reddy inquired about the accident. After knowing the details, he expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. Collector Sumit Kumar said that CM Chandrababu has announced an exgratia of Rs.5 lakh on behalf of the government. Puthalapattu MLA Murali Mohan visited the injured who are being treated at Palamaner Area Hospital.
Accident due to negligence of lorry driver
The police initially concluded that the negligence of the lorry driver Sonukumar, who was coming with an iron load, was the cause of the accident. It is suspected that Sonukumar from Uttar Pradesh was not aware of Mogili Ghat and was sleepy. As the lorry went out of control, it crossed the divider and collided with the RTC bus which was going too far. The driver’s negligence claimed his life along with six others. Many were injured.
Without knowing that the daughter is dead
Six-year-old Hansika from Jaswantpur, Maharashtra, died at the scene of the accident. Her body, which traveled by bus with her parents Rikki, Ashtosha, and her three-year-old brother Ashmit Yadav, is now in the Chittoor hospital mortuary. Three family members are being treated in the same hospital without telling her about her death.
