Raghu Thatha Review
Raghu Thatha Starring: Keerthy Suresh, MS Bhaskar, Devadarshini, Ravindra Vijay, Anand Sami, Rajeev Ravindranathan and others Editing: T. S Suresh Music: Sen Roldan Cinematography: Yamini Yagnamurthy Producers: Vijay Kiragandur Written, directed: Suman Kumar OTT: ZEE5 Story: Kayal Pandian (Keerthi Suresh) works in Madras Central Bank.
Kayal Pandian loves to write stories. She is determined not to get married. At the same time, it is known that his grandfather Raghottaman (MS Bhaskar) has cancer. Raghu’s grandfather wants to see Kayal married before he dies.
But Kayal, who does not like marriage, gets ready for marriage with Tamil Selvan (Ravindra Vijay), whom she likes. At this time, their engagement also takes place. Kayal learns about Tamil Selvan’s behavior after the engagement. Kayal thinks to cancel the marriage.
Thinking like that, Kayal has come up with a plan. As part of it, she will prepare to write the Hindi exam. What is the connection between Hindi exam and Kayal’s marriage? What did Raghutata actually do?
You have to watch this movie to know the truth about what Kayal learned about Tamil Selvan. Analysis: Released with a length of two hours, this story feels as laggy as the movie Aipoda Ra when you watch the first episode. But the real story starts half an hour later. The story runs along with the engaging screenplay and comedy.
At first, seeing Rabindra Vijay and Keerthy Suresh, one would think that he is the one next to her, but after watching the movie, it becomes clear that he is the right one for this role. That’s how the character connects with the audience. Those were the days when Hindi language was not accepted in Tamil Nadu… It feels like the story of a girl has been taken a bit too liberties by showing it here and there.

It seems to have a Malayalam flavor. The second half is the main strength of the movie. The scene of copying in the exam and the discussion about that pen will be good. If you skip the first half, you will miss a good story.
There are no adult scenes anywhere. The makers have taken it in such a way that it can be seen with the family. 1970 back drop was shown as a blindfold. Very well done.
Yamini Yajnamurthy’s cinematography is a plus to the story. Editing by TS Suresh is neat. San Roldan’s music seems to be lacking. The songs may have been good in Tamil, but they didn’t work out so well in Telugu.
Build values are good. Performance of actors: Keerthy Suresh as Kalai and Ravindra Vijay as Tamil Selvan are the main strength of the movie. MS Bhaskar impressed as Raghu Thatha. The others acted to the extent of their roles.
Finally: A comedy entertainer to watch with the family. Average first half and engaging second half. Rating: 2.75 / 5
