Before the election, I didn’t even know what caste I was. I didn’t know that Mysore royals belonged to the backward class. But Mysore MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar said that during the election, my caste was known because I was a backward class candidate.
He spoke on behalf of the BJP Backward Classes Morcha on Sunday (September 29) at the Kalyana Mandapam in Kunjibettu Sarada while inaugurating a conference of writers, artists, writers, poets and wit writers of the coast.
Everyone laughs if you say that royals are backward class. For that, I am happy that I got the privilege of representing all communities, not caste-wise. It is good that there is a caste system in our country. Through this, Indian diversity can be preserved. But caste is also a curse in another sense. It is misused for various reasons. He opined that it is very important to take the caste in the right direction in this regard.
