There is good news for the people of Telugu states, especially those who are planning to go to Goa. The proposal to increase trains from Secunderabad to Goa has been approved.
In this order, two express trains will run to Goa per week. These will start from October 6. They run between Secunderabad and Goa. Secunderabad -Vascoda Gama train (17039/17040) runs from Secunderabad on Wednesdays and Fridays and Vasco Dagama on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy, representing the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad, thanked the Prime Minister and Railway Minister for introducing the new train. Seeking to introduce a new train, Kishan Reddy made a request for a new train on March 16 explaining the issue to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Indian Railways has announced the introduction of a new bi-weekly train between Secunderabad and Goa. It halts at Kachiguda, Shadnagar, Jadcharla, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Kurnool, Dhone, Guntakal, Bellary, Hosapeta, Koppal, Gadag, Hubballi, Dharwad, Londa, Castle Rock, Kulem, Sanvordem, Mudgaon before reaching Vaskodagama.
Booking started
These trains have First AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper and General Second-Class coaches. The booking of these train tickets will start from October 4. The train will start from Secunderabad at 11.45 am on 6th October and arrive at 7.20 am the next day. However, more than 80 lakh people visit Goa every year, and 20 percent of them are Telugus. In the past, many people of Telugu states resorted to private vehicles and flights to go to Goa due to lack of train facilities. Now if two trains are available, the number of people going to Goa will increase.
In the past
So far only one weekly train with 10 coaches is running from Secunderabad. After it reaches Guntakal Junction the coaches are attached to the Tirupati-Goa Express train and continue with another 10 coaches. In that order, 4 coaches were added to the Kachiguda-Yalahanka Express train which runs four days a week. At Guntakal 4 coaches were connected to the Shalimar-Goa Express train bound for Goa. Hence all the trains (coaches) running between Secunderabad/Kachiguda-Goa will run with 100% occupancy. In that order, passengers used to face difficulties as they could not find seats.
