Nayab Singh Saini Oath Taking Ceremony Live Updates: In the recent Haryana assembly elections, BJP returned to power for a third consecutive term, securing an absolute majority in the 90-member assembly.

Nayab Singh Saini Swearing-in Ceremony LIVE: Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana today in Panchkula following BJP’s best-ever seat tally in the recent Assembly elections. Saini staked claim to form the government for the second time, hours after he was unanimously elected as the BJP state legislature party leader on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief J P Nadda, besides a host of other leaders, including NDA partners and CMs of states ruled by party and its allies.

 

The Cabinet: Haryana’s Cabinet can accommodate a maximum of 14 ministers, including the Chief Minister. Among the leading candidates for ministerial positions are Anil Vij, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Rao Narbir Singh, Krishan Lal Panwar, Vipul Goel, Harvinder Kalyan, former deputy speaker Ranbir Gangwa and former MP Arvind Sharma. Several women legislators are also in contention for Cabinet berths with Arti Rao, the daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh; Shruti Choudhry, the granddaughter of former Chief Minister Bansi Lal; Krishna Gahlawat; and Independent MLA Savitri Jindal as the notable frontrunners.

 

NDA CMs Conclave: PM Modi will chair a conclave of the NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers in Chandigarh today after the oath-taking ceremony between 3 pm to 7 pm. The agenda for the conclave is said to focus on crucial national development issues, including discussions on the observance of Sanvidhan Ka Amrut Mahotsav (75 years of the Constitution) and the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. Notably, the gathering is set to feature participation from at least 13 NDA CMs and 16 deputies.
