ICC Women T20 World Cup 2024: Scotland women’s cricket team has the first time. Scotland qualified for the world cup after defeating Ireland in the qualifying semi-final on Sunday, May 5.

Scotland will try qualifying for the World Cup from 2015. Finally achieved their goal in the fifth attempt (2015, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2024). In another semi-final, Sri Lanka also along with Scotland. Both these teams have qualified for this year’s World Cup.

The T20 World Cup will start on October 3 this year in Bangladesh. A total of 10 teams will participate in this World Cup which will be held in two groups. Groups-A consists of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand teams, while Group-B consists of Scotland, South Africa, West Indies, England and Bangladesh. In the group stage, each team plays a match against the other teams.

After the completion of all the matches, the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals on October 17 and 18. After these matches, the final will be held on October 29. In this World Cup, the match will be held on October 6 between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

As for the match between Scotland and Ireland (first semi-final), Ireland scored 110 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted overs. Catherine Blythe put in an all-round performance (4-0-8-444, 35 not out) to guide Scotland to victory. As for the second match of the semi-final, Sri Lanka, who batted first, scored 149 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted overs. Scotland and Sri Lanka will decide their fate in the World Cup Qualifiers on May 7.
