Story:
Shiny (Durga Krishna) is a housewife. Her husband Reggie (Jude Antony Joseph) is busy with work away at Farren. She lives at home with her ten-year-old son, aunt and uncle Kuttichayan (Indrans). But her aunt’s health is not good, and she is confined to her bed. So, the aunt has to make purchases for Shiny. On the other hand, she continues to have an affair with her junior in college, Kiran (Dhyan Sreenivasan).
Highlights
In this sequence, one day when her son is not there, Shinee calls Kiran home. Without anyone knowing, Kiran comes close to Shiny. After that, what happened in that house? What is the crime of Shiney and Kiran, not just the affair? How did Shiney’s uncle Kuttichayan, who is about 60 years old, take revenge on them? What happened in that house until the next morning? If you want to know such thrilling and interesting things, you must watch Udal movie.
Analysis:
Udal movie is a bold and crime suspense thriller movie. In such films, no matter what the story is, if there is taking, thrilling elements and an impressive screenplay, they will be successful. In that regard, it can be said that the director has been very successful in showing Udal movie. The movie starts showing Kuttichayan’s house. Later the characters and their relationship are introduced.
Within the first ten minutes
Within the first ten minutes, Kuttichayan’s daughter-in-law Shiney, who has a ten-year-old son, revealed that she was having an affair with her junior Kiran and created interest. After that, the scenes of Shiny’s aunt’s health, the stench coming from her, and Shiny’s irritation go on. And the real story starts when Kiran comes to Shiny’s house for sex.
Big twist after the sex scene
The twist that Shiney has planned with Kiran who comes home late at night and what crime they have committed together will give a shock. The romantic scenes that come in the happiness of the planned success are entertaining. Later, when they want to send Kiran away, both of them are shocked as the whole house is locked. The scenes after this are thrilling.
Engaging scenes
The cat and mouse game between Kuttichayan vs Shiny, Kiran will be superb. Plans to try to kill each other are interesting. The entire second half is very engaging. And the twist that comes 15 minutes before the climax is mind-blowing in an unexpected way. The movie will end with the suspense of who will survive out of that house.
The BGM is overblown
The highlight of the movie is the BGM provided by William Francis. Different type of BGM is provided for each scene. It is not normal. It gives a good thrilling feel along with the depth in the scene. Also, in some places it gives a touch of horror and scares. Also, engaging scenes and screenplay are another highlight. And Indran’s acting as Kuttichayan is on a different level.

Elevation in Star Hero range
His performance in the scenes where he takes revenge along with his love for his wife is excellent. The elevation given to Kuttichayan while shooting the beedi in both the scenes is unusual. That elevation in the Star Hero range, with appropriate background music, gives a good high feel. And Durga Krishna as Shiny is also very pleasing. Impressive as a housewife willing to do anything to fulfill her sex desires.
Away from kids
Dhyan Srinivasan’s acting is fine. In the end, the first hour of the two-hour long Udal movie is slow. The second hour is very impressive. This movie with good thrilling scenes has a lot of adult content and gore so it cannot be watched by small children and family. If you want to watch alone and enjoy a good suspense thriller then Udal Movie is the best option.
