The Tirumala Laddu affair has sent shockwaves across the country. The main allegation is that the sentiments of crores of Hindus have been hurt.
Devotees are still in shock over the addition of animal fat especially in Srivari Prasad. Criticism is pouring in from all quarters.
The center also focused on Hindu communities in the country. The central government has asked the Chandrababu Sarkar to give a report on this. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has reacted on the laddu incident.
He said that the news about Prasad has caused concern. He said that every devotee feels that the laddu has been adulterated in the temple. He said that there is a need to investigate the Tirumala Laddu affair. Moreover, they want to protect the sanctity of the shrines in the country.
Criticisms on the Tirumala Laddu affair have intensified both at home and abroad. Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah government has been on alert after using Nandini ghee for Tirumala Laddu. The temple department of Karnataka has decided to use only nandini ghee for the prasads prepared in the notified temples.
To this extent, the state minister Ramalinga Reddy issued orders. The Karnataka Revenue Department has issued orders to the Collectors of all the districts. It mentions that quality should be observed in the preparation of prasads in temples. Nandini made it mandatory to use ghee for lamps and other services along with prasads.
Even Tamil Nadu has been shocked by the case of animal ghee adulteration in Tirumala Laddu. Concern started among the devotees there. According to the information disclosed by TDD, the officers of the State Pollution Control Board raided the AR Dairy Foods Company.
Prasads of ghee supplying temples were examined. On the other hand, the company disclosed that there was no adulteration in their company’s ghee. It has been revealed that they have supplied ghee in June and July and they can do any kind of tests.
On the other hand, TTD EO Shyamala Rao responded on the Tirumala Laddu incident. He said that the tests showed that pork and cow fat were mixed. AR dairy food has been blacklisted. Action will be taken against those supplying to TTD.
The suppliers of ghee to TTD include Vaishnavi Dairy Specialty Pvt Ltd, Parag Milk Foods, AR Dairy Foods, Kirparam Dairy Pvt Ltd and Prebier Agri Foods. Among these AR dairy foods were found to be adulterated, he said.
