Amaravati: It has come to light that fish oil and animal fat are used in the laddu prasad of the Tirumala temple in Tirupati, the holy land of millions of Hindus, and it has sparked a huge debate. After the laboratory of Gujarat confirmed that this blunder, which was said to have taken place during the previous CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, outrage broke out across the country and the discussion is going on everywhere.

What did Pawan Kalyan say?
Pawan Kalyan responded to Hindu IT Cell’s ex post saying that the government should take strict action against those who desecrate Laddu Prasad. Animal fat (fish oil, pork fat, beef fat) mixed in Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Laddu Prasad has come to light and has hurt everyone’s sentiments. Many questions have to be answered by the TTD Board which was formed during the administration of YSRCP. Our government is committed to take strict action against those responsible for this. The time has come to set up a national level Sanatana Dharmarakshana Board to oversee the affairs of all the temples in the country. There should be a national level discussion with all communities about this. Pawan Kalyan had written on his X account that we should all work together so that Sanatan Dharma is not harmed.
How did the Laddu Prasa controversy come to light?
When the YSRCP government was in power, animal fat was used instead of pure ghee to make prasadam laddus in the Tirumala Tirupati Srivenkateswara temple. The controversy erupted after Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the temple’s sacred laddu prasad was being defiled. Naidu, who raised this issue in the NDA alliance meeting held in Mangalagiri, accused the authorities of failing to take action despite several complaints about the desecration of prasad. However, former CM Jagan has denied the allegations against him.
