Namma Metro: Good news, green signal for Bengaluru-Tumkur green line traffic

Namma Metro

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has good news for our metro commuters. The CMRS team conducted a safety inspection and gave the green signal for commercial operations on the Bangalore Tumkur Metro line, which is a green route.

Metro trains will run on the extension line in a few days.

Green line from our Metro Silk Institute to Nagasandra has been extended by 3.7 km from Nagasandra to Madavara. After many hurdles, the route was completed and saw successful trial traffic. BMRCL officials have shared information that now the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has conducted a two-day inspection and approved the metro to run.

A team of Railway Safety Commissioners inspected the route between Madavara and Nagasandra stations on October 3 and 4 as scheduled. He ensured the safety of train running on the extension line. B.M.R.C.L. has got the permission for the commercial service of the said route.

Chief Public Relations Officer said.

At present, this extension will facilitate thousands of people coming from Madavara and Nelamangala via the metro line. It also contributes to reducing traffic congestion. But there will be further increase in the number of daily passengers.

Increasing congestion problem?

At present, the daily number of our metro passengers has crossed 8 lakh. The same number of trains have to run on the same extension line. This is likely to further increase the traffic. It is said that the arrival of new railway coaches is too late. The metro, which used to run till Nagasandra, now has to run till Madavar. There is concern that there will be a problem of not getting on the train during peak hours.

A total of 55 metro trains are operating at present. There are more than 65 stations on the Green and Purple lines. Stations will increase as the route expands. Dependence of people on metro will increase. This may cause more problems. If more metro trains come to Bangalore soon, this problem can be solved.
