Chennai, October 12: A massive train accident took place on the outskirts of Tamil Nadu on Friday (October 11) night. Two trains are speeding and collide with each other.

Bhagmati Express (12578) train from Mysore to Darbang via Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rammed into the goods train which was stopped on the tracks. The accident took place near Kavaraipettai railway station in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. In this incident, train carriages were blown up. Others feel scattered. Around 13 coaches were derailed. All the AC coaches were in the front of the Bhagmati Express and the passengers were seriously injured.

Due to this, the situation became terrifying with the screams of the passengers in the respective carriages. Immediately after the accident, the locals came running and started rescue operations. However, Southern Railway announced that there was no loss of life in this incident. Chennai Railway Division said it has set up helplines with phone numbers 044 2535 4151, 044 2435 4995. Along with these, the railway divisions of Andhra Pradesh have also released emergency helpline numbers. Gudur 08624 250795, Ongolu 08592 280306, Vijayawada 0866 2571244, Nellore 0861 2345863… Help line numbers have been arranged. The injured passengers were shifted to several nearby hospitals for treatment. The Railway Department said that alternative transport arrangements have been made to reach the rest of the passengers to their destinations.
