Baba Siddique: “We are the ones who killed Siddique, why?” The Bishnoi gang took responsibility.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder of former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, who died tragically in a shootout. Siddiqui Nantu with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim and Anuj Thapan was responsible for the murder in a Facebook post by a gang member, which has now gone viral.

In the post, the gang member wrote, “Om, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat,” I understand the essence of life. I consider wealth and body as dust. He said that I have only done the right thing and respect my duty.

Salman Khan, we didn’t want this war, but you made our brother lose his life. Today Baba Siddique’s pool of decency is closed or once he was under MCOCA (Maharashtra Organized Crimes Ordinance). A member of the Bishnoi gang wrote that the reason behind Siddiqui’s murder was his connection with underworld criminals Dawood and Anuj Thapan.

After Siddiqui’s murder, the security of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is on the Bishnoi gang hit list, has also been increased.

Police have arrested two persons, identified as Karnail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap, in connection with the attack. During interrogation, he claimed to belong to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang. The third accused in the case is absconding and the police have laid a trap to find him. Police sources said.

The two accused are said to have told the investigators that they have been monitoring Siddique’s movements for the past one month. The incident took place around 9.30 pm outside the office of his son and Maharashtra MLA Zeeshan Siddique in Bandra East. On the occasion of Dussehra, Siddique was bursting firecrackers while covering his face with a handkerchief. One of the bullets hit Siddiqui in the chest and he collapsed on the spot. He was immediately admitted to Lilavati Hospital, but the treatment failed, and he died.

Who is Baba Siddiqui?

Born on September 13, 1959, in Patna, Bihar, Baba Siddiqui grew up in Mumbai. He joined the Congress in 1977 as a teenager. He quickly gained political success due to his strong connection with the local electorate.

Baba Siddique became the general secretary of the Bandra Youth Congress in 1980. He was elected as its head for the next two years. In 1988, he became the president of the Mumbai Youth Congress and in 1992 was elected as a municipal councillor.

In 1999, Siddique won his first election as an MLA from the Bandra West constituency. His victory was easy as a result of his massive grassroots support and ability to mobilize voters from different communities. He represented Bandra West for three consecutive terms, holding the seat till 2014.

During his tenure as an MLA, Siddique worked extensively to improve the infrastructure of his constituency, rehabilitating slums, upgrading health facilities and enhancing educational institutions. Thus, he had a lot of people’s support.
